    1. I finished reading the novel Dead Run by Sean Rodman. A story about a young man trying to make it to the big leagues. The novel is about a teenager named Sam who is trying to become a professional cyclist, Sam bends over backwards and commits crimes for his coach for the level of commitment he has dedicated to cycling. The story wasn’t very action packed to begin with. It started out very slow and boring, but eventually after three quarters of the novel it started to get more intense and more [...]

    2. Sam lives for cycling and thinks he has a chance of being a world-class racer. His attitude and lack of discipline always seem to get in the way, though, resulting in being kicked off his cycling team. He meets Viktor, an aging Olympic cycling champion who agrees to train him as well as giving him a job as a bike courier. When Viktor gives him special pickups to make, in unmarked packages from shady characters, Sam realizes there may be something illegal going on. What choices will he make? A so [...]

    3. Rodman does a pretty good job at painting a gritty, tough, rider-against-the-city atmosphere. I enjoyed reading about the cycling culture Rodman portrays as it is an interest of mine. Cycling is still a bit of a fringe sport in North America and it was good to see it getting some exposure. The gang money-laundering plot point is one of the weaker parts of the book. The villain is a one-handed Serbian ex-soldier with the wardrobe of a mafia boss and I couldn’t help but think of every terrible J [...]

    4. Sam lives to race bicycles. When a former Olympian cyclist offers to train him, so long as Sam becomes a messanger for his courier company. Sam grabs the opportunity. But, the job turns out to be more than Sam expected when he finds himself running for his life.Fast paced and full of suspense, this book is an excellent choice for reluctant readers. The characters are believable, and the gritty, urban setting realistic.

    5. Dead Run is decent but not something I would go to for anything other than a quick book to help catch up with my reading challenge. That is really the only reason I picked it up.

    6. This reminded me of a sort of light version of the movie Premium Rush. I really enjoyed it. It would've been even better if it had been longer!
