    1. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.I'm not sure what I expected based on the cover of this book, but it was probably not what I got. This book is less in my comfort zone and more in the mystery/futuristic realm. That being said, I still tore through this book in one night's reading time. I was really rooting for Jillie, the mouthy yet lovable main character. She didn't actually get any breaks in this book, though. Maybe it's because Gryff (weird, yet justifiable name [...]

    2. When I received the ARC of The Sparrow and the Hawk, the latest novel from Meg Lacey, I was already excited. I’d been asked to review it, and was already in love with the story just from the description.Reading it only cemented my love for this genre-blurring adventure. It’s a paranormal romance, but it’s also an urban fantasy, a black comedy, and a mystery/thriller with a dash of horror. It’s fast-paced, funny, and completely absorbing, and the only flaw is that it’s BOOK ONE in an in [...]

    3. The first book in the Tales of the Sparrow series is an intriguing adventure full of mystery and illusions. Jillie Harte codenamed Sparrow is assigned to find The Carmaletta Choker before it falls into the wrong hands, but her assignment is complicated by Griff Ryland who is also looking for the necklace. Griff aka the Hawk needs to bring the choker back to his dimension where it belongs. Both have the impression saving the world from evil is hard work, but it doesn’t even come close to facing [...]

    4. The cover is extremely cheesy, but please don’t judge the book by it. This is a new series that is fun, fast, and full of wit. Jillie is smart, sassy, with the perfect balance of cynic and believer. Her job for the NAS requires her to deal with the paranormal, but she takes her time evaluating each situation as it comes. I really like that she questions her sanity when something really weird goes down, like a normal person. Griff is sexy and mysterious, but not a real cowboy. I hope he loses t [...]

    5. I find the cover awkward(I'm restraining myself from saying more ugh hahah), if I haven't read the summaryI'm not sure if I'm going to read this at all lol, don't judge the book by it's cover applies here because I seriously enjoyed and loved reading The Sparrow and the Hawk regardless of my hate for the cover. The book is magical in a dark and twisted way. The characters are all kinds of mysterious and very unpredictable, they all carry big secrets from one another. I loved both Jillie and Grif [...]

    6. This book was enjoyable and at times had me laughing. This is what I would call good "popcorn for the brain", meaning there are no life changing revelations to be found among the pages, but there is a lot of fun. The characters are entertaining and had the feel that they were so visibly present I could see them in a film. I would say this book would be enjoyed by people who enjoy this genre and I think the time twist in the book was a great spin on events. I look forward to reading other materia [...]

    7. Interesting twist on good vs evil and "supernatural" themes. The last couple of chapters is where all the action is and is what got me to think about reading the next in the series but before that I was a little bored. The tension and chemistry between Jillie and Griff is definitely going somewhere but I think it's going to take them a while to get there.

    8. This book is amazing! It has it all! Like Twilight meets Harry Potter meets True Blood! It has humor, hotties, suspense and sucks you in from page one! Fantastic! I love, love, love this author and HIGHLY recommend all of her books! Her sense of humor is just great! Can't say enough good things! MUST READ!!!

    9. I absolutely loved this genre-blurring adventure. It’s a paranormal romance, urban fantasy, black comedy, and a mystery/thriller with a dash of horror thrown in for good measure. It’s fast-paced, funny, and completely absorbing. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good book that will make you laugh out loud and hungering for more!
