    1. Brandon Sanderson

Brandon s major books for the second half of 2016 are The Dark Talent, the final volume in Alcatraz Smedry s autobiographical account of his battle against the Evil Librarians who secretly rule our world, and Arcanum Unbounded, the collection of short fiction in the Cosmere universe that includes the Mistborn series and the Stormlight Archive, among others This collection features The Emperor s Soul, Mistborn Secret History, and a brand new Stormlight Archive novella, Edgedancer.Earlier this year he released Calamity, the finale of the 1 New York Times bestselling Reckoners trilogy that began with Steelheart.Brandon Sanderson was born in 1975 in Lincoln, Nebraska As a child Brandon enjoyed reading, but he lost interest in the types of titles often suggested to him, and by junior high he never cracked a book if he could help it This changed when an eighth grade teacher gave him Dragonsbane by Barbara Hambly.Brandon was working on his thirteenth novel when Moshe Feder at Tor Books bought the sixth he had written Tor has published Elantris, the Mistborn trilogy and its followup The Alloy of Law, Warbreaker, and The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance, the first two in the planned ten volume series The Stormlight Archive He was chosen to complete Robert Jordan s Wheel of Time series 2009 s The Gathering Storm and 2010 s Towers of Midnight were followed by the final book in the series, A Memory of Light, in January 2013 Four books in his middle grade Alcatraz vs the Evil Librarians series have been released in new editions by Starscape, and his novella Infinity Blade Awakening was an ebook bestseller for Epic Games accompanying their acclaimed Infinity Blade iOS video game series Two novellas, Legion and The Emperor s Soul, were released by Subterranean Press and Tachyon Publications in 2012, and 2013 brought two young adult novels, The Rithmatist from Tor and Steelheart from Delacorte. The only author to make the short list for the David Gemmell Legend Award six times in four years, Brandon won that award in 2011 for The Way of Kings The Emperor s Soul won the 2013 Hugo Award for Best Novella He has appeared on the New York Times Best Seller List multiple times, with five novels hitting the 1 spot.Currently living in Utah with his wife and children, Brandon teaches creative writing at Brigham Young University.

    1. 'Word of Radiance part 1' is a lot faster than 'The Way of Kings'.Shallan Davar is one of my favourite characters. Adolin Kholin is a very good character I really like him. Sadeas is my least favourite characterMost fantasy books are predictable for an example, you know Harry Potter will kill Voldemort at the end and 'The Lord of the Rings', you know Frodo will take off the ring in the end. This book is unpredictable.

    2. HOT DAMN that was good! So good that the word 'good' doesn't even come close to describing how good it was! I loved this book. I am such complete trash for the characters. Shallan will always be my fave because she is precious. I'm so nervous to continue this series because I feel like a lot of shit is gonna happen and it'll mess with my emotions. Still gonna pick up part two straight away though. CAN'T WAIT!

Adol [...]

    4. SO GOOD!! Straight onto Part Two! Not looking forward to parting ways with these books. I don't want to wait for the release of the next book. I NEED IT NOW!! *cries*

    5. I think this is the first book I've read where two main characters have a conversation about poop x) Going to have a small pause before diving into part 2. I really love where the story is going now! All the bickering between the characters is gold.

    6. These SA books are like my drug!Nothing compares to the happiness, excitement and adrenalin I feel when I’m reading them. Ugh!

    7. I was supposed to be asleep an hour ago, but I couldn't put this down. I don't know what else to say, aside from I adore this series. As with The Way of Kings, I'm gonna wait until I've finished part two to write a review even though I still haven't put up my review for WoK yet lmaaaaao

    8. It's probably worth remembering that this is just the first half of a much bigger book. But it's still a great first half. So much happens with a few surprises and we get a greater insight into Shallan's character and background. Based on how this ended part 2 promises to be epic!!

    9. Too good. I have read great fantasy books and they are like a good long shower compared to Sanderson. This series is a long bath with wine and candles. Get immersed with the characters and the superb world building and just enjoy every page. Shallan is much more prominent in this part which is no bad thing but Kal remains my fave as he tries normality after the horror of bridge running. Just love the series.

    10. Yet another fully deserved five stars, if not more! The story is still cracking along at a great and interesting pace. This book also features some intriguing revelations concerning the plot and to most of the characters involved. Out of all the events happening i felt this book belonged to Shallan and her "awakening". Very excited to see what happens!! Also one of the most important questions was raised do you poop when in full Shardplate, messy haha :)

    12. This book made me laugh aloud. It was also brilliantly descriptive, built, and inspired anticipation and in some instances, dread, as I was reading it. A lot of things surprised me in this book; I adored it!! Onto the next installment!

    13. I am loving this series so much. I can FEEL that it's going to be a new favourite. I loved the progression of all the characters but I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying Shallan compared to the first book, she has become my new favourite over Kaladin. On to part two!

    14. (**SPOILER ALERT**)I like to vary my reading so I’m only going to cover Part 1, in this review – I’m sure I’ll get around to part two at some point later in 2016!Words of Radiance is classic Sanderson; intriguing magic system(s), a big over-arching plot alongside the smaller narrative elements, engaging characters and a very well developed and completely believable world. He’s also not afraid to get his hands dirty and get rid of someone who he spent a good portion of the first book in [...]

    15. I don't really know what to add. The concept remains the same as the first book, the world just gets better and mote beautiful. Anyhow, I'm eager for the next part!

    17. What a great book! I can't wait to read the next one. It has been a very long time since I have gotten this excited over a book to the point where I can't contain myself and I have to talk to someone about it whether they know anything about the book or not. The story is fantastic and the writing is great. I think Brandon Sanderson is my new favourite author. It was brilliant, it was a great next instalment and I'm eager to see what happens next.

    18. Brandon Sanderson continues to amaze us on his unique world in the first part of the second book in the series, giving a very colorful and vivid example of how the fantasy books must be written. An intertwined story that is unbraided in more woven driven plots. Every plot is fantastic and you can't say what you like the most. Simply you can't put it down.Sanderson managed to continue making the characters believable and gives them gradually more depth in their past. We learn a lot for the past o [...]

    19. Just had to come back and change the rating for this from 4 to 5 stars. One cannot build a skyscraper without building the first 30 floors or more. It was unfair to rate it 4, the build up could only be reviewed with a bit of hindsight. A bloody brilliant book!

    20. This is a combined review of THE STORMLIGHT ARCHIVE 1-2If you think there is only Game of Thrones? think againIn my humble opinion, this series is somewhat a first cousin of A SONG OF ICE AND FIREThe year is ending and I haven't find enough suitable words to explain how I feel about this series. It has plot within plots. Characters well crafted. Engaging illustrations. The thing that bores me personally is lots of details without any characters interaction or dialog but the author here provides [...]

    21. I'd forgotten just how much I love this series. It's been years since I read the Way of Kings, and I was afraid I wouldn't like this book quite as much as the first one. I'm glad I was wrong. I'm also glad I've got part two waiting for me back in my apartment. I can't wait to continue the adventure. The most exciting part about this book is getting to see the different characters come closer to each other, weaving their stories together. I love Shallan with a passion, and it's such a joy to see h [...]
