    2. I had high hopes for this book from the publisher of the now-defunct Mud Luscious Press. MLP has published some truly incredible books, so I expected something similar here. Unfortunately, I found this book very one-note. The conceit is a kid walking around a zoo with his parents (who are apparently in the death throes of their marriage) while he free-associates the bestiary of their terrible home life with the animals they see.
