    1. Revelation is the sequel to Brian Matthews’s debut novel Forever Man, although it is not a direct continuation of the events in the first novel. This story starts with a firmly convinced atheist, Myles Knight, who runs a blog and tries to debunk any kind of religious relic or artefact. Knight receives a box with a religious artefact that he can’t open, one that people are willing to kill for. On opposite sides of the fence are Bart Owens, an immortal being who is a defender of humanity, and [...]

    2. Review copyI can't believe it's been 2 years and four days since I reviewed the original Forever Man novel, a work I liked so much I gave it 5 stars. As far as the sequel goes, Revelation is even better than the original.A fascinating mix of religion and adventure thrown into a blender with Brian W. Matthews' wild imagination. The result is a brilliant story that in some ways seems all too plausible.Because what I read was an Advance Readers Copy, I'm not permitted to quote from the text (in cas [...]

    3. An ancient relic lost to the world ages ago surfaces in Missouri.Miles Knight, a skeptic suddenly threatened by forces he cannot comprehend, scrambles to stay alive.Chased by a murderous hit man, assailed by unspeakable evils, Miles finds unexpected aid in Bartholomew Owens, the Forever Man, and his protégé, Katie Bethel. From the sleepy heartland of America to the corrupt dangers of Africa, from the forgotten ruins beneath the Vatican to the simmering heat of Istanbul — they race to secure t [...]

    4. Revelation expands on the story of Bartholomew Owens, the mysterious old gentleman from Forever Man, while introducing a new threat that he and his protégé, Katie Bethel, must confront. While Forever Man was set in a small town in Michigan's Upper Peninsula with a large cast of characters, Revelation does the opposite: it spans the globe with a smaller cast. I wanted to give the book a different feel, give the reader different experience. As with the first novel in the series, Revelation explo [...]

    5. Miles Knight, survivor of a long-ago car crash that kills the rest of his family, lives alone and collects old religious relics. He invests heavily in a red bag that cannot be opened at all and thus finds himself in the company of ageless Owen Bartholomew, who was featured in Matthews' former works, and Owen's assistant Katie as they join to do battle against diabolical forces. With highly believable characters, great suspense and a well-created plotline that proceeds to an exciting conclusion, [...]

    6. Well I received this book as an early review from LibraryThing. I really almost put it down but thought let me push through to the end. I am so glad I did. Once I understood there was background being given while the story was developing I was hooked. I loved the power and energy and loved the characters. Watching Miles fighting through and understanding what he had walked into the middle of. Seeing how the past of Owens and Phillip was explained. Man an awesome read. Then I realize the book is [...]

    7. Disclaimer: I received this book from Library Thing Early Reviewers in exchange for an honest review.Revelation: A Forever Man Novel is about Miles Knight, a skeptic suddenly threatened by forces he cannot comprehend, scrambles to stay alive. He came into the possession of an ancient relic. Evil forces are after it -and him. Miles finds unexpected aid in Bartholomew Owens, the Forever Man, and his protégé, Katie Bethel. From the sleepy heartland of America to the corrupt dangers of Africa, from [...]

    8. Revelation is a direct sequel to Forever Man and it very quickly ups the ante on the significance of their mysterious protagonist, Bartholomew Owens. (Though he is its epic hero, he often takes a deliberate backseat to the more relatable heroes and heroines.) I very much enjoyed the drawing back of the curtain—while appreciating that’s never drawn back completely—of the “forever men” and their ongoing struggle against their evil counterparts. I would discourage anyone from reading this [...]

    9. If you had questions about the mysterious Bart Owens from Forever Man, this sequel will answer many of them! Weaving new faces into the tapestry of Bart's life, Matthews gives us an interestingly intricate story structure and meticulously researched venues, history, and characters. While some of the events are disturbing, they are essential to the development of the story. Indeed, there is nothing gratuitous about the journey each person must travel to come together at the climax. I was lucky en [...]

    10. Matthews delivers a fast paced thrilling read with well developed characters and a plot that weaves through various locations. I like the main character and how he keeps his head through everything he goes through. The descriptions of each location bring them to life. This is a page-turning adventure that is difficult to put down once you start reading. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This in no way influenced my opinion.

    11. This was one of my reading for work novels of 2014, and, personal involvement aside, it was a fine addition to the first novel in the series. I won't say much about the story itself, for fear of spoilers, but suffice to say this installment is cosmic, in comparison to the first Forever Man book. Much bigger story. Enough said. Very well done on all counts.

    12. The first book, Forever Man was an "I can't put it down". I read a prerelease copy of Revelation . This one is better! :Brian teased some changes based on feedback from ore-readers. Looking forward to the actual final book

    13. I received this book in exchange of an honest review. Poor Miles can't get a break. There is a force that can bring mankind to it's knees. Miles is lucky as he has help from Bart & Katie. He becomes a believer

    14. won this book! did not know that this was a sequel to another book until the very end.( which I plan on purchasing). great story line, knew some background on the characters. a great good vs. evil book.

    15. I enjoyed this book quite a bit. Without giving spoilers, I was surprised at they resolution; very clever. I was kicking myself for not figuring it out. There is a satisfying conclusion but also a clear lead in for the next book.

    16. This is a gritty fast action novel with supernatural overtones guaranteed to keep you in suspense. Miles Night buys a mysterious artifact in a satin bag and all manner of persons good and bad are after it. The bad ones are absolutely evil and the good ones have a certain holiness about them and historicity. The author cleverly conceals their identity until you are well into the plot so I am not going to give it away here. The elements in the satin bag need to be matched to two others all with my [...]

    17. This book is seriously outstanding. "Forever Man" was very well done, but I think "Revelation" is even better and, based on the ending which seems to promise another installment, I am looking forward to the next. Matthews has created some interesting characters in Bartholomew and Philip and he builds the support characters with care to evoke reader empathy. Even Miles, the doubter, pulls you into his corner as he struggles to embrace as real what he has always believed to be fantasy. But while t [...]
