Well I received this book as an early review from LibraryThing. I really almost put it down but thought let me push through to the end. I am so glad I did. Once I understood there was background being given while the story was developing I was hooked. I loved the power and energy and loved the characters. Revelation is a direct sequel to Forever Man and it very quickly ups the ante on the significance of their mysterious protagonist, Bartholomew Owens. (Though he is its epic hero, he often takes a deliberate backseat to the more relatable heroes and heroines.) Matthews delivers a fast paced thrilling read with well developed characters and a plot that weaves through various locations. I like the main character and how he keeps his head through everything he goes through. The descriptions of each location bring them to life. This is a page-turning adventure that is difficult to put down once you start reading. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This in no way influenced my opinion.

This was one of my reading for work novels of 2014, and, personal involvement aside, it was a fine addition to the first novel in the series. I won't say much about the story itself, for fear of spoilers, but suffice to say this installment is cosmic, in comparison to the first Forever Man book. Much bigger story. Enough said. Very well done on all counts.

The first book, Forever Man was an "I can't put it down". I read a prerelease copy of Revelation . This one is better! :Brian teased some changes based on feedback from ore-readers. Looking forward to the actual final book

I received this book in exchange of an honest review. Poor Miles can't get a break. There is a force that can bring mankind to it's knees. Miles is lucky as he has help from Bart & Katie. He becomes a believer

won this book! did not know that this was a sequel to another book until the very end.( which I plan on purchasing). great story line, knew some background on the characters. a great good vs. evil book.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. Without giving spoilers, I was surprised at they resolution; very clever. I was kicking myself for not figuring it out.There is a satisfying conclusion but also a clear lead in for the next book.

This is a gritty fast action novel with supernatural overtones guaranteed to keep you in suspense. Miles Night buys a mysterious artifact in a satin bag and all manner of persons good and bad are after it. The bad ones are absolutely evil and the good ones have a certain holiness about them and historicity. This book is seriously outstanding. "Forever Man" was very well done, but I think "Revelation" is even better and, based on the ending which seems to promise another installment, I am looking forward to the next. Matthews has created some interesting characters in Bartholomew and Philip and he builds the support characters with care to evoke reader empathy.
