    1. This was a reread for me. It was sort of a sci fi romance. At least the hero was an alien who came to Earth to study us. Of course he falls in love with one of his test subjects. So there was that element. There wasn't much other sci fi ness but it was rather a story of two opposites meeting. So maybe more of a futuristic rather than sci fi. It was well written as always by Kat Martin. I enjoyed the heroine who was down to earth and a disbeliever in alien abduction even when it was happening to [...]

    2. I found this book rather creepye plotline is basically about an alien who takes over the body of a dying man in order to study a human abductee closely in order to learn why people like her are able to resist some of the alien's mental probing. However, he becomes increasingly drawn to his earth host and falls in love with the female subject. The whole concept of the woman sleeping with reanimated corpse of her former boss really is disgusting on several levels. Also, I found the author's use of [...]

    3. I did not think I would like this book after reading some of the reviews. While the premise is weird (an alien in a human's body having a romance with a regular woman while trying to find out why she is resistant to their brain probes) it actually works. The story plays out in a moderately predictable fashion (you knew the two of them would get together) with a surprise at the end. An interesting book even for those of us who do not believe in UFO's!

    4. i picked this up because i liked the pretty straw hat on the cover, with the red scarf thingie being all floaty in the breeze. i thought it'd be a light-hearted and perhaps sexy little storybut nowhat i found here is an alien-abduction romance. i'm not even kidding.worse than even that is that i was hooked on it. god. what has happened to me!?!? if an alien read this, that alien would be totally pissed off at the ending.

    5. I picked this book up as I was craving a good suspense novel. I have to admit I never saw a key aspect of the plot coming. At first I felt a little unsure if I liked this aspect, but then it grew on me. All in all, this was a very good read and it did come with some very good twists. I would give it a 4.5 overall.

    6. This book wasn't really what I thought it would be based on its blurb. I was expecting paranormal mystery, but this book is really paranormal romance, with a tepid mystery thrown in. I don't read much in the way of romance novels, so it was a disappointment that so much of the book is focused on that.Basically, this book is the standard romance novel trope of "womanizing party boy changes for the love of a good woman." Only here, the womanizing party boy, Patrick, changes (view spoiler)[because [...]

    7. Driven realtor Julie spends day at beach with sister. They both notice weird noise, fall asleep. In the the next few days Julie gets headaches, but her sister becomes increasingly paranoid. Queue the cheesy spooky music already.Julie's boss is an attractive male slut who drinks and drugs too much, and really wants in Julie's pants. Yeah, he's cute and she's crushing but she's smart enough to say no. Then on the way to a biz lunch he literally falls to at her feet -get ready for the cliche plot d [...]

    8. I was surprised by the reviews on this book, because I liked it so much. It was a bit different than anything else Kat Martin has wrote but I like different. I'm a diverse reader, and will read most anything. I happened to like aliens. At this point I had never read anything about aliens before, I think Kat Martin did a great job and not making it creepy. I liked the little bit of mystery. I liked Patrick's change of views, and the feelings he started to have for Julie. Through out the book as J [...]

    9. I had read and enjoyed a number of historicals by this author, so was curious to try a contemporary. I may have realized at some point that this was actually a paranormal, but hadn't noticed that this is the third in a paranormal series, as is mentioned in the afterword. Fantastic fiction lists this as standalone. I don't think the fact that it's in a series I haven't read detracted from my enjoyment, but this one didn't quite win me over. The theme of UFOs and UFO believers is very tricky at be [...]

    10. I picked up this book because the author had my same initials and I'm doing a reading challenge this year and this fit one of the challenges. Nothing on the cover said anything about this being a book about aliens and abductiond then when it was mentioned in the story it was very matter of fact, like it was not weird or strange at all. Quite surprising. I admit that I still enjoyed much of the story, but thought it was strange and had no idea this was even a genre of books but apparently it is. [...]

    11. I must admit I was very disappointed with this particular story. It started off wonderfully. It had possiblity, but when I discovered its *actual* direction I became quite skeptical. By the time the wrap-up was beginning and everything should have had an answer, well, I was so bored and frustrated I skipped to the end to see what happened, then went back and located the other high lights and called it a day. It is highly doubtful the remainder of the series will be on my reading list. At the sam [...]

    12. I normally like for any "romance" that I read to either be sci/fi-ish or paranormal but this book just didn't do it for me.The pacing was off as I felt that the story dragged in place, taking too long for things to come to light. I wasn't impressed with the characters or the overall premise as the story turned out quite different than what I thought that I was in for.Martin's writing is actually pretty good as far as I can tell from the few books that I have read but for whatever reason, I just [...]

    13. Julie Ferris is a real estate agent who loses an afternoon when she and her sister were supposed to be at the beach. After, she has headaches and her sister has panic episodes. Meanwhile, her longtime workmate, Patrick Donovan suffers a cocaine-induced heart attack, but recovers remarkably well and with a new outlook on life. They fall in love and she discovers that he is an alien inhabiting the prior Patrick’s body. 3/5

    14. I must say I was a little hesitant about reading this book because of the aliens and all but since my goal was to read and own all of Kat Martin's books I got it anyway. I got just a few pages through it and was not sorry I did. I really enjoyed it. She has such a special way of writing that I don't think there is anything she could write that was bad! I just love her books and you will too!!!

    15. This is one of the few romances that actually scream "WTF!". The whole concept of an alien entering and living in a deceased body is pretty frightening, evoking horrid images of body snatchers in B-grade movies. But in any case I was somewhat amused throughout (maybe I have a sick mind).I have this uncanny knack for picking the wrong book to try from a prolific writer.

    16. I normally love Kat Martin. So I'm sad to say, this book was awful. Based on the blurb, I didn't expect aliens. Maybe I could get over the alien thing, but there were so many things about it that made me cringe. I felt like all of the characters needed to either be in jail, locked in the psych ward, or slapped in the face. Just horrible.

    17. At first the concept of the story is a little different than what I am used too, but like always Martin never fails to deliver. She made a story that normally I wouldn't read become really interesting and fun to read. After I got used to the story idea it was very easy to read and in the end I really enjoyed it.

    18. The story is rather unusual, an alien in a human's body falling in love with a human woman while trying to find out why she is resistant to their brain probes. This is not typically my kind of Paranormal as I usually prefer vampires and shape shifters, but I found myself drawn in just the same. I couldn't seem to put the book down. I would definitely recommend it.

    20. I almost gave up on this book was too gritty for e in the beginning, and too much drug and sex imagery. I try to skip that stuff. Did not like Patrick's character at all. However, I will not give any of the surprises away, but the story after his heart attack was quite good. I loved the ending. The story can be a little far fetched, but hey, its fiction.

    21. Weird premise - an alien takes over the body of a man in order to study someone they abducted more closely. She falls in love with him, thinking he is a changed man, but not realizing he is really an alien. Slightly creepy, but overall entertaining. Read this book to get it off my shelf; not great, but not awful.

    22. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I was expecting the usual mystery- girl meets boy who seems like a bad guy but is really a good guy, the duo solves mystery, one of them saves the other's life, etc.Quickly the paranormal (hmm, actually, science fiction) side came through. Usually a plus in my book.

    23. This was a huge waste of time and money. I'm a fan of Kat Martin and I'm just wondering if she was on vacation and someone else wrote this book in her place. Definitely the worst book I've read by her. I like paranormal, but this pushed the boundaries way past being even remotely believable. Alien body snatchers? Give me a break. Try again Ms. Martin

    24. Girl goes to beach, girl gets headaches, girl falls on love with reformed druggie sleazeball who has a change for the better because. he's really dead, and an alien took over his body to probe our heroine's brain. And other assorted parts. As they supposedly fall in love. WTF? Absolutely disappointing, the weakest link in the trilogy by far. I couldn't even finish it. Really that bad.

    25. I truly enjoyed this book. There are indeed some twists and turns. Altogether this book has made me laugh, cry, and angry. The ending wasn't what I expected, but I'm glad I read it. I couldn't seem to put the it down. Give it a chance.

    26. I enjoyed this book very much. The paranormal twist was great. It brought a very interesting perspective to the story. This was the first Kat Martin book that I've read. I now plan to read more from her.

    27. Kind of an off the wall romance with an alien taking over a human body and falling in love with an Earth woman. Even with all that it was hard to put down. Always enjoy a chance to read a local author and I will read more of her books.

    28. Third book in series. The first chapter was eerie. I felt chills. The rest was good paced.Nice plot. Loved the happy ending. If you would like to read this book or others in this genre please visit booksfreeswap. This book is ready for swap!

    29. This book is a bit weird, if you don't mind read about alien, ufo, etc. with romance. I like the storyline, it's really sweet. On other hand, it's good for making you wondering if alien, ufo, etc is true???? ;)
