Perl Power:the Comprehensive Guide by John Flynt is a simpler introduction to Perl if you have no programming background, but if you want something more in depth, this is the book for you. The exercises with suggested answers are especially helpful. Even though the book was written for NT, most of the information still applies to XP and Vista. The chapter on CGI really whetted my appetite, and actually another O'Reilly book on that topic (CGI programming with Perl [...]
