    1. Actual rating 1.5 stars because parts of it were OK, but parts I disliked immensely.Reader, meet In the Laird's Bed, a book that fits the following criteria:- Yet again, a book my mom bought on sale. - Yet again, a book she thought was OK but I disagree (at least in parts I do).- A book whose author has the same initials with me- A book whose prologue, in fact the very first paragraph, made me groan. Want to know why? I'll tell you why. Our hero Duncan can smell a woman's scent in the wind. It d [...]

    2. Reading the first part of the book I was really confused. There wasn't enough information to understand what had exactly happened five years earlier and the relationships between characters and their feelings were truly incomprehensible. I didn't like the hero and the heroine because their main activity was to confuse each other and the reader. And then there were these details I would have liked to explore more - like the treasure hunt and Leah's bonding with Duncan. These things seemed really [...]

    3. 4 1/2 StarsI just finished reading In the Laird's Bed by Joanne Rock! This is the first book I read by this author and enjoyed her medieval Scottish romance. Duncan the Brave comes back to the Domhnaill castle after breaking his engagement with the beautiful Cristiana in order to win her back and discover a treasure hidden in her castle. Cristiana does not want to reveal her family's secret. Will she open her heart to Duncan? You’ll have to read to find out!I loved her style of writing. Lots of [...]

    4. Duncan the Brave returns to Domnhaill in search of treasure. But he comes with more than a little trepedation. How will his ex-love Cristiana react to seeing him again? Does the rift caused by his brother's rape of her sister still stand? Cristiana has similar worries, and even more as she has been raising the issue of that ill-fated tryst, and is loathe to let the child go. In fact she would move heaven and earth to keep from doing so. So Duncan on her doorstep is the last thing she needs, nor [...]

    5. This was a pretty good read. I enjoyed the characters and the dynamic of the relationship. The fact that they were supposed to wed but then that was halted and then coming back together and dealing with the hurt and rejection and trust. I always enjoy reading a book more when the characters are likable and I am hoping for them to find happiness. Both of the main characters were flawed but likable. The siblingst so much.

    6. This is the first book of Joanne Rock's that I've read and I must say that I really enjoyed it. There's loads of passion between Duncan and Cristiana and I found myself enveloped within the storyline. I don't want to give away any of the book but the only reason why I didn't give it a five star has to do with the Leah character. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Rock.

    7. An interesting historical romance. The characters are pretty well developed and I found no typos. Can't say I would recommend it, but it was a nice pleasant trashy romance. To the garage sale with you!

    8. I can always count on Joanne Rock to deliver a solid story. This is your typical mistakes made, errors in judgment, kiss and make-up, throw in a devious brother tale. All-in-all, a swiftly flowing story I enjoyed very much.
